Mario Y. Cavada: Banking Lawyer in Cebu

Atty. Cavada obtained his bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of San Jose-Recoletos in 1975 and his Bachelor of Laws degree from San Beda College of Law (Mendiola) in 1979. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar the following year, having obtained the 17^th place in the Bar Examination, the highest place garnered by a San Beda Law graduate that same year.

Atty. Cavada has been engaged in corporate, banking and commercial practice for over 43 years. Prior to founding Cavada & Aguilar Law Firm, he was part of the legal department of Equitable Bank in 1981 at its Head Office in Manila. Subsequently, he relocated to Cebu City to join the Legal Department-South of Insular Bank of Asia and America (IBAA) in 1982. IBAA was eventually merged with Philippine Commercial International Bank (PCIB) in 1986, with PCIB as the surviving bank. He became the head of Legal Department-South of PCIB from 1986 to 1993, catering to the legal requirements of the Visayas and Mindanao Division offices and branches of the bank.

After leaving the banking industry, Atty. Cavada joined several lawyers in forming Muntuerto Miel Duyongco Cavada Law Offices in Cebu City, which he has been affiliated with since 1999. He later joined Atty. May Aguilar in founding Cavada & Aguilar Law Firm in 2022.
