Jose S. Cubelo: Cebu City Litigation & Intellectual Property Lawyer

Atty. Cubelo obtained his bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Silliman University in 2006, cum laude, and his Juris Doctor degree from Silliman University College of Law in 2018, where he graduated salutatorian of his batch and was awarded the Dr. David Padilla Award for Best Thesis. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2020.

Prior to taking up law, Atty. Cubelo worked as a writer at SunStar Daily and a public relations specialist and regional accounts manager at Lexmark International. In law school, he served as the editor-in-chief of The Silliman Law Journal from 2016 to 2018 and actively represented Silliman University in moot court competitions from 2016 to 2017. He participated as a mooter in the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition, where his team qualified for the national rounds in the Philippines. He also served as the team manager in the International Humanitarian Law Moot Court Competition in Manila.

Aside from being a practicing lawyer for the Firm, Atty. Cubelo assists the operations of the Business and Human Rights Resource Center’s (BHRRC) in Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific.
